’Dungowan’, Manly

’Dungowan’, a heritage listed building, was designed by the firm of Ross and Rowe in 1918 as a four-storey luxury residential apartment building. It was built by wealthy pastoralist Leslie Sprague in 1919 and named after his country property ’Dungowan Station’

What DLH did

DLH Plastering was contracted by Southern Cross Constructions to replicate twelve decorative corbels located underneath the Juliet balconies on the façade of the building. Traditional methods including hasp and staple and the wet running of hardened cement were used.

Our contract was later extended to include the restoration of the front foyer which included the restoration of three archways, the wet running of column capitals and salient angles and bench running various impost, panel and skirting moulds.
